3T Digital MRI
Gateway Radiology’s new 3.0 Tesla has over twice the strength of other MRI’s in the Tampa Bay area, delivers faster scan times, has a wide patient opening, and the clearest images available.
Multi-Slice CT (64 Slice)
Gateway Radiology’s Philips Brilliance CT offers higher image quality with less radiation than our competitors. Fast, non-invasive, accurate results.
- CT CARDIAC CALCIUM SCORING
- CT CORONARY ANGIO-GRAM
- CT BRAIN PERFUSION
- CT COLONOGRAPHY
PET/CT can offer improved diagnostic accuracy of malignant lesions due to the increased sensitivity of the study over other imaging alone because PET/CT helps measure the activity of abnormal lesions as well as just visualizing them. This helps the Radiologist and the Oncologist determine if lesions are more likely malignant or benign, or if the disease is progressing or improving.
It features an open aired architect system that comforts patients with claustrophobia concerns.
Nuclear Medicine uses radioactive tracers to assess bodily functions and diagnose and treat disease. Tracking the path of these radiopharmaceuticals allow doctors to diagnose the patient’s metabolism of an organ or a system.
Ultrasound is a procedure that may be used to determine whether a breast lump is a cyst (sac containing fluid) or a solid mass. Coupled with Digital Mammography, Ultrasound has proven to find more breast cancers in women with dense breast tissue.
Digital Mammography with CAD
Gateway’s Hologic Selenia with CAD (Computer Aided Diagnosis) utilizes the latest technology to help in the fight against breast cancer.
- A filmless system that provides superior image quality and resolution, allowing for more accurate detection of calcifications, small lesions and breast cancers.
- Ideal for detecting breast abnormalities in women with dense breast tissue – who are often at higher risk for breast cancer.
- Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) is a new technology in breast imaging that gives the Radiologist a computerized “second review” of a mammogram. The computer-aided detection system is useful for identifying areas of tissue asymmetry and suspicious micro-calcifications. Studies have shown that CAD can improve the detection of breast cancer by as much as 20%.
In place of X-Ray film, our digital X-Ray device gives us immediate image preview and availability. A wider dynamic range provides images with greater clarity and detail as well as the ability to apply special image processing techniques that enhance overall display of the image.
Bone Density (DXA)
Dual Energy X-Ray absorptiometry (DXA) is considered the most accurate test for bone density. It provides precise results and is the preferred test for diagnosing osteoporosis.
